This HD Dump is ready to take on everything your farm, ranch, or multiplicity has to throw at it. No only does it have a long 6 ft 2 inch bed made of reinforced steel that can carry and dump up to 1,500 lbs of dirt, but that bed also has drop sides that make loading and offloading so much easier on your back as you don’t need to stretch and reach.
Get even more use out of your HD Dump by pairing it with a Fisher plow, or even add a salt spreader as well. Ask about how you can accessorize your HD Dump and get these as a package deal.
And just because you’re working doesn’t mean you can’t stay comfortable with this mini truck’s fully weatherproof sealed steel shell cab that keeps the elements out while making sure you stay pleasantly warm or cool. With its 4×4 powertrain, off-road rims and tires, and practical feature set, this Hijet HD Dump is both great value and a real step up from what you’re used to with regular UTVs from companies like John Deere.
Engine & powertrain
This HD Dump model has a 660cc KF-series three-cylinder engine, mounted under the cab for stability and a lower center of gravity. More sophisticated than a regular UTV engine, this unit runs on gasoline and has electronic fuel injection to return well over 35 MPG fuel economy (almost double that of a regular UTV) but with such quiet running that even using it around highly strung livestock isn’t a problem. Maximum torque kicks in at 4,000 rpm so it has more than enough for any hauling or climbing tasks you care to throw at it.
This particular model comes with a CVT automatic transmission characterized by smooth, step-free acceleration and (of course) the ease of not needing you to shift. Putting the power down through those off-road wheels is the job of the electronic 4×4 system that monitors traction and switches automatically between two- and four-wheel drive as conditions require. And if things get particularly sticky, there’s a rear locking diff to maximize traction.
Interior & comfort
This HD Dump model has a weatherproof cab with air conditioning, heat, and a defroster as standard to keep things comfortable in any season. You’ll find the seats are more comfortable than the basic plastic ones you find in typical UTVs, but with the hard-wearing water-resistant practicality you expect from a working vehicle. Plus, it’s so easy to keep things tidy with the glove box, large door pockets, and even cup holders. Striking the right balance between practicality, durability, an comfort, this cab is the place you’ll want to be when you have to go out into your fields to work.
load bed & hauling
With a box that’s 6 ft 2 in long, 4 ft 6 in wide, and 1 ft deep, there’s an abundance of capacity for both hauling gear or dumping loads. Not quite as big as the Regular Cab model bed, but still much larger than you would get from a traditional work UTV. The bed itself is made from stainless steel over 1/16 inch thick and the bed construction is reinforced with steel pillars on each side to increase rigidity and reduce the risk of distortion. It’s mounted on a dedicated subframe to strengthen the chassis, again to prevent deformation under heavy loads.
The dump action is powered by a dedicated hydraulic ram that pitches the bed up to 50 degrees to ensure the load gets moving and dumps smoothly. There is a dedicated gravity gate at the rear that opens up automatically when dumping. The electro-hyrdaulic mechanism can be operated both when the mini truck is stationary, or when it’s moving. This is particularly popular with farmers who raise the bed at low speeds to spread feed evenly across a field.
This is the electro-hydraulic model that draws the power for the dump mechanism from the battery. If you need to be able to keep on dumping all day, then we recommend the PTO version that can keep on dumping so long as it has fuel as the PTO draws its power from the engine itself.
You can also use that bed just as you would the bed in any of our fixed-bed model. Pop the cotter pins and you can drop the two sides and rear gate to get them out of the way for loading and unloading. After all, it’s all very well having a long bed, but you don’t want to strain your back reaching in with a heavy bag of feed. The bed itself is just over 2 feet off the ground, but the drop sides as well as the foot step just behind the cab make access much easier and more ergonomic.
